The Halloween atmosphere arrived gradually this year. For several days beforehand, we focused on decorating, and the office slowly transformed into a space full of pumpkins, cobwebs, and small decorations subtly reminding us that something special was coming.
The decorations stayed with us for a few days, pleasantly brightening the workspace without disrupting the daily office routine.
We didn’t get to the costumes until the day of the event itself. The workday remained completely normal, but once our tasks were done, the friendly and relaxed Halloween mood took over. Colleagues arrived in their costumes only for the informal afternoon party, which added a lovely element of surprise — seeing familiar faces suddenly look completely different always brings a smile and sparks new conversations.

The afternoon gradually turned into evening, and the whole gathering had a natural, effortless flow. It was an opportunity to slow down, chat about things outside of work, share experiences from preparing our costumes, and simply spend time together in an atmosphere that wasn’t about performance or deadlines, but about a shared experience. Moments like these may seem small, but they make a big difference in how we feel as a team.

Part of the evening also included the game Blood on the Clocktower, which some colleagues jumped into. The game added a bit of suspense and light competitiveness, but also plenty of laughter and commentary about who was suspicious and why. It was a great way to join in on something fun together and create another shared memory that lasts longer than a regular workday.

This small Halloween “project,” from days of decorating to the evening costume gathering, once again showed us how even a simple activity can contribute to a positive atmosphere in the office. It brought playfulness, energy, and space to get to know colleagues in a different light. Masked or unmasked, these moments help build team comfort and strengthen relationships that naturally carry over into everyday collaboration.
