Recently, we had the opportunity to host another instance of the highly favoured ALFONZ breakfast in the office. Who is this Alfonz, you might ask, and why is there a LOGEX employee that makes office breakfasts?

In fact, ALFONZ is the name of an employee engagement team in the Brno office. Initially, it was meant to be called EET, the same as its Dutch counterpart, but sharing a name with a not-so-popular Czech electronic system wasn’t so desirable. The founding members came up with the name Akce lidového feedbacku od nemanagujících zaměstnanců, roughly translated People’s feedback from non-management employees campaign. Thus, it is nicely abbreviated to ALFONZ.
As the name might suggest, the team consists of regular LOGEX Brno employees. Our responsibility is to gather the feedback, ideas and struggles of all co-workers regarding the office space and other day-to-day issues. The ALFONZ team meets once every three weeks with a dedicated HR representative to discuss the collected topics and potentially bring up the following actions. The team was founded at the beginning of last year. Since then, it has managed to collect lots of employee inputs, bring plants and improve the glass stickers in the newest part of the office, mediate a dog-friendly office day and — as one of the most popular outcomes — start organising ALFONZ breakfasts.
As it is sometimes hard to get input from all employees, especially when they prefer to work from home, good food is something that can attract even the most prominent home office dwellers. For every ALFONZ breakfast, we order the best pastries and chlebíčky (garnished breads) that Brno can offer, along with fruits, coffee and juice, put up a suggestion box and open meeting rooms with specific topics. This time, breakfast attendees could brainstorm company marketing, like LOGEX branch merchandise or career pages, or visit the suggestion box with ideas for improvements to our Learning & Development programme, while enjoying delicacies from artisan bakery Klásek. And especially catch up with colleagues from other teams.
