We’re continuing our series of interviews with colleagues from our Brno office! This time, we had a chat with our HRBP & Recruiter, Míša, about what it’s like to juggle these two key roles and what recruitment at LOGEX involves. How does she recognize the ideal candidate? What should applicants be prepared for? And what does she love most about working in HR?
If you're considering joining us, this article will give you a great insight into our company culture. And of course, we didn’t skip the personal questions either! 😊
At the beginning of the year, you celebrated your first anniversary at LOGEX. How would you summarize it?
It has been an even bigger ride than I expected. 😊 However, I was pleasantly surprised by how much creative freedom I have in my work, even though I still have to follow certain rules. I am grateful for the amazing team in Brno. Together, we welcomed 14 new colleagues last year, and they fit in perfectly. I am also very happy that, thanks to new benefits, salary policies, and the implementation of performance reviews, we have improved working conditions. On top of that, my colleagues and I organized various events that were very well received, which brings me great joy. All in all, it was a challenging year, but I definitely enjoyed it.

Your position is quite diverse. Can you give us an overview of your responsibilities and how you manage to balance everything?
I must admit that balancing all my responsibilities is not always easy. I am in charge of recruitment for Brno (though last year, I also participated in hiring in other countries), I serve as the HRBP for the Development team across LOGEX, I try to maintain an active presence for LOGEX on social media, I write blog articles, handle internal communication, and, together with my colleagues, I help organize and execute our events.
At the beginning of last year, I focused more on recruitment, while towards the end of the year, I shifted more into the HR Business Partner role due to the implementation of new changes. Time management is key for me, but I enjoy all roles. The HRBP role is still new here, but I am gradually finding my place.
Every role has its challenges. What do you consider the biggest challenge in recruitment and HR?
My role is very complex, so the biggest challenge for me is setting the right priorities. Each team and each manager sees them slightly differently, so it's up to me to guide them correctly and understand the importance of individual projects within the overall direction of the company.
In recruitment, a big challenge is attracting candidates who actually respond to job postings. Once we meet them, LOGEX often wins them over—they like our product and our atmosphere. But getting them to the interview is not always easy. That’s why I try to stay active on LinkedIn, and I would appreciate more support from colleagues to reach as many great candidates as possible. Coming up with regular content isn’t always easy, so it’s a bit disheartening when colleagues aren’t actively engaged.
On the other hand, I have to highlight how well our referral system works. This year, for example, we hired five new employees, three of whom came through recommendations from our current colleagues. There were even more referrals, but not all made it through the selection process. This clearly shows that people are happy here and are willing to recommend us to their friends.
When it comes to hiring, do your colleagues help you? How do they contribute to the process, and what impact do they have on selecting new team members?
I’m very grateful for how actively my colleagues participate in recruitment. Everyone understands how important it is to be part of the process from the very beginning.
Our recruitment process works by having the Hiring Manager assemble a team that collaborates with me from the first step—creating job postings and defining roles to pre-selecting candidates and conducting interviews. We typically have a two-round selection process, starting with a short screening call with me. During this call, I verify key skills and experience, as well as check availability and salary expectations to ensure we are aligned.
In the first interview round, the candidate meets their potential colleagues. Beyond introducing the company and the role, the main focus is on a technical discussion, and for some positions, there is also a practical task.
In the second and final round, the candidate meets their future manager and additional team members. Often, this happens over coffee or lunch because we want them to experience the team dynamic in a different setting than just the office. One of our key criteria when selecting a candidate is ensuring they fit well—not just within the team but within the company as a whole.
Once a candidate accepts an offer, my colleague Ivet takes over part of the communication, handling all the onboarding formalities. However, my work doesn’t stop at recruitment—I stay in touch with the new hire and support them throughout their onboarding journey.
LOGEX has its unique culture and values. What do you think makes our company attractive to new candidates?
For me, it’s definitely the inspiring environment. We have an amazing team of people who love sharing their experiences—not just professionally but personally as well.
I can see how much I’ve grown in just one year at LOGEX, and I’m grateful for that. And not just on a professional level—my colleagues even inspired me to start running regularly.
Candidates often appreciate the pleasant atmosphere during interviews. They notice the strong teamwork, professionalism, and excellent collaboration among colleagues. They also like our office space and are excited by our well-equipped kitchen. 😊
How should a candidate prepare for an interview, and what does a “good team fit” mean to you?
Candidates should definitely check out our website and blog to get a better idea of our culture and see if it aligns with them.
During interviews, I ask about personal interests, how they spend their free time, whether they prefer working in a team or independently, and their previous experiences. These answers help me gauge how they would fit into our team.
We strive to be honest and transparent, so candidates don’t have to worry about any “hidden games” during the process.
When it comes to a “good team fit,” I rely a lot on intuition. But above all, we value fairness, curiosity, honesty, kindness, and a sense of humor. If a candidate shares these values, there’s a great chance they will fit in well.
How would you describe the culture and work environment at LOGEX?
Even though LOGEX is growing and approaching the size of a corporation, we still maintain a friendly, almost family-like atmosphere in Brno. We work on tools that have a real impact and improve healthcare, giving our work a strong sense of purpose.
We care about the onboarding process—new colleagues quickly become part of the team, have a buddy to support them, and can rely on help from others. We encourage growth and transitions between technologies. Our Scrum Masters focus on making everything run smoothly, and our low turnover rate proves that people feel good here.
We know LOGEX offers a variety of benefits. Which one is your favorite and why?
For me, it's definitely our well-stocked kitchen! I see it as a huge perk that I don’t have to worry about grabbing breakfast or a snack before work—there’s always something tasty here. We’ve got everything from muesli, yogurt, toast, and pastries to sweets, fruit, and veggies. Honestly, better than at home! 😊
A quick snack also comes in handy when we go for a run or do some yoga with colleagues during a break. And honestly, I really enjoy these shared activities—whether it’s a workout or even a little sing-along after work!
I also appreciate the 5% pension contribution from LOGEX—I probably wouldn’t save on my own, so it’s great that the company helps us think about the future. And since last year, we also have a Pluxee leisure card, which I mostly use to buy books because I love reading.
Do you have any work-related goals for this year?
My goal is to engage more with the IT community. Last year, I planned to, but there wasn’t enough time. This year, I’d like to involve LOGEX in more online and offline meetups and podcasts, and produce more technical articles on our website.
Another key goal is to continue fostering the great relationships we have here because I never take that for granted.
Besides work, what are your interests, and how do you relax after a long day?
I’m lucky that I truly enjoy my job, so I rarely feel the need to completely disconnect. But I also make the most of my free time—especially with my husband and our six-year-old daughter, who is the best adventure buddy. We love traveling, exploring new places, and spending time together—lately, mostly playing board games.
I also have an amazing group of friends who have children as well, so our trips and getaways, where up to 15 kids gather, have become a wonderful tradition that we all truly enjoy.
Another one of my favorite hobbies is good food—especially Italian cuisine! And even better when paired with a glass of great wine (preferably Italian) :-). I also love café-hopping and discovering new restaurants where I can explore exciting flavors and soak up the atmosphere.
When I have a moment for myself, I love to relax by going for a run, working out, or diving into a good book. And when I’m in the mood to unwind, I never say no to a great movie or TV series. 😊
Thank you for the interview!
